AUTHOR INSTRUCTION

   

SUMMARY OF MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION PROCESS
 
1. Initial Paper Format
  1.1   The maximum number of pages is 10 (Science & Technology) and 18 (Social Science).
  1.2   For social science tracks (Management Science track & Humanities Design Creativity track), the manuscript should contain at least 6000 words.
  1.3   Single column.
  1.4   British or American English.
  1.5   Writing format especially citation and references must follow APA in-text citation  style and APA reference style (6th Edition), respectively.
     

Figures and tables to be annotated in manuscript, and labelled as Fig. 1., Table 1.

       
2. Final Paper Format
  2.1   Once acceptance is confirmed and the manuscript is assigned for submission to a specific journal, authors will be provided a journal-specific format guideline. Authors will be required to reformat their manuscripts according to the journal guideline before submission to the journal.
       
JOURNAL PUBLICATION PROCEDURE FOR CSSR2020 PAPERS
       

Step 1

Initial Submission

  1.1   Download paper template from CSSR2020 website (http://cssr.uitm.edu.my/2020/index.php/download)
  1.2   Submit paper to EDAS portal (https://edas.info/listConferencesSubmit.php)
  1.3   Receive acknowledgement email from CSSR2020 secretariat
  1.4   Proceed to Step 2
       

Step 2

Format and Similarity Evaluation (Auto-generated by EDAS)

  2.1   Initial formatting checks:
      2.1.1  Pass: Proceed to Step 2.2;
      2.1.2  Fail: Return to author for correction.
       
  2.2   Similarity Index checking via EDAS
      2.2.1  <30%: Proceed to Step 3;
      2.2.2  30-40%: Return to author for revision;
      2.2.3  >40%: Rejection (End of process), or return to Step 1
       

Step 3

Review Process (by CSSR Scientific Committee)

  3.1   Track Chairs assigns papers to reviewers according to expertise.
  3.2    Submission of evaluation marks and comments by Reviewers.
  3.3   Announcement of decision via email/EDAS.
      3.3.1  Accept: Proceed to Step 4
      3.3.2  Reject: End of process, or return to Step 1
       

Step 4

Payment (by Authors)

  4.1   Register and pay conference fees by 17 October 2020.
      4.1.1  Upon full payment: proceed to step 4.2;
      4.1.2  No payment: the paper will be removed from the list of publication.

      4.2.1  Proof of Payment (payment statement/slip or bank deposit slip), and
      4.2.2  Proof of student identification (if registered based on student rate).
       

Step 5

Revision of Manuscripts with Minor Corrections (by Authors)

  5.1   Revise the manuscript in accordance to reviewers’ comments, and prepare a summary of feedback on the reviewers’ comments.
  5.2   Upload the revised paper (in pdf/doc/docx format) and summary of feedback from authors via EDAS system.
       

Step 6

Revision of Manuscripts with Major Corrections (by Authors)

  6.1   Evaluation of the revised manuscript by reviewers.
      6.1.1  Accept: Proceed to Step 7
      6.1.2  Reject: End of process, or return to Step 1
  6.2   The final results of 2nd cycle evaluation will be informed to the authors via email
       

Step 7

Post-Conference Journal Publication (by Authors)

 

7.1

 

Authors will be informed of the journal selected for publication of the manuscript, and will be provided the journal-specific guidelines. The journal selection process will be based on the subject area and quality of the manuscript.

 

7.2

  

 

Author should reformat the manuscript according to the journal's guidelines. Some journals may require several round of reviewers' evaluation. In this regard, the author should comply with the reviewers' comments. When sending a revised article, construct a detailed reply to referees. Reply with numbered sections corresponding to referees’ points. Any revision that is being submitted does not serve as a guarantee that the manuscript will be accepted by that particular journal since another round of review might be necessary (subjected to the editor's and reviewers' discretion).

 

7.3

 

All articles will be considered to be published in indexed journals subjected to discretion from the editors of the journals involved pertaining to the subject area, quality and format of manuscript.

 

7.4

 

The CSSR secretariat will not be held responsible should the manuscript is not published in Scopus & WoS journals due to issues pertaining to the quality and format of manuscript.

 

7.5

 

 

Common quality issues may include the lack of the following aspects: (1) original theoretical contributions, (2) English language proficiency, (3) critical literature review, (4) rigor in methodological & data analysis and (5) research implications.

 

7.6

 

Any manuscript that is not qualified to be published in Scopus or Web of Science indexed journals will be considered to be published in ERA and MyCite indexed journals, chapters-in-book or conference proceedings.
